OK.. I'm finally set-up to make a contribution now!! Here is a project that was in-progress on the road when I joined up here in October. It's AMT's '50 Chevy pickup. It's already 90% complete, just have some engine detailing to do, and some detail-painting on the underside. The engine and trans is from a Boyd's '55 Nomad kit, that, coupled with lowering the suspension the max allowed without hacking into the frame, were about the only radical mods to this kit. Paint is Periwinkle semi-gloss. Let me know what you think! -Shag

Having just finished 2 of these, I gotta say I like your take on it too. I love the rat look.

Thanks for the compliments Folks!...This truck was also my first attempt at making the exhaust out of solder..it didn't come out too bad for the first shot! Being I'm building on the truck, spare parts are limited, I made the mufflers out of fat pieces of sprue..I didn't really care much for them at first, but then I thought,"mufflers back then probably looked a bit different anyways"..Besides, I built this one to put on the shelf for display..to take up space-if you will. The exhaust tips are made from coffee stirrers robbed from a comveince store somewhere out there. (By the way, coffee stirrers come in all kindsa shapes!! Just dabbed them with some silver on the outside, flat black on the inside..and WA-LA!!

I will probably try to finish this one up before I leave my Dad's house to go back to work..so more pics will be posted soon, stat tuned! -Shag
