Ok, my next WIP is the 66 GTO that I owned back in 1969. This is just going to be a box stock build except maybe for the paint which was just a little different shade than the box.

A little history on this kit, I got it at a garage sale along with 2 other kits and all 3 of them had been painted with god knows what kind of paint and no primer. I have had the bodys in CSC and DOT3 for 2 weeks trying to strip the paint. Maybe because he used no primer, the paint seems to have stained the white plastic but a good coat of primer covered it so I think everything will be fine. Here's a few pics of the beginning. I will be spraying another coat of white primer next just because the light metallic blue will cover better.

All right! Finally got back to this build. It's funny how time flies when you're doing 20 different things title=

Anyway, got the first coat of white primer on the body and also primed the engine. If you remember, I put a gray first coat of primer first just so I could see when sanding if I went down to bare plastic. The white is there because I will be painting it a light metallic blue. Here's a couple pics

Nice start on the Goat Thumb. Light metallic blues sounds like a great color, can't wait to see the outcome. Anyways will be looking out for your progress.

I was priming everything either gray or white depending on what color the part was going to be painted and since I am building this box stock, came upon a problem. They say to paint the instrument panel on the dash a gloss brown, don't know if they mean dark or light but that's not the real question. Why would they want you to paint it brown unless they want it too look like wood? The 66 GTO I had was a light blue metallic color and if I remember correctly(which may be the problem), the instrument panel was chrome or the normal silver color.
Here's a pic of the dash primed in white with the colors they suggest to paint it. I guess where the ??? are, is supposed to match the car color.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I don't know much about these cars.

But I like using google image search: Click here

Try different search combinations if you don't get your answer. Ebay sometimes has good photos too.

Well, maybe my mind just is not what it use to be because I looked all of the 1:1 in your link and they all have the brown/wood instrument panel. Ok, that's what it's gonna be then.

Thanks!
