Way back in way back when.folks found out that '32 Ford frames handled V-8 power a lot better than even boxed "A" rails did, hence the beginning of a trend. I had a built '32 highboy roadster I wasn't in love with and a Revell '29 Pick up so I guess I'm in business. Joe suggested I do a WIP so here goes. I'm putting a Hemi in it, and at the same time trying to retain as much interior space as possible so there will be very little firewall set-back. Had to shorten and narrow the frame first. Cut the floors out too. With the engine maximum front I figured the firewall set back needed, then cut the floor hump and tunnel from a Charger and made that fit. i cut the gas tank out of the frame remainder, got it so-so pretty, molded the rear roll pan to the fender assembly and fitted the tank in there. It'd need it too for a bit of weight bias offset. I hope the pictures come up,as well as showing some work.

Dang! I'll catch on soon. A little progress. Had to remove the engine mounts,as they would have blocked the exhaust. Made up a pair of cradle type mounts as well as a safety strap for the drive shaft. Filled the gap between the frame and box at the front edge under the box. Darbed camera always shows a ton of flaws but so far I'm still OK with it. Paint is duplicolor Cherry something over gold base with Dup. clear. I want contrast with the body color but won't know if it's good 'til I get some color on it.

Looks good Bill, I like the red colour. What colour are thinking of for the body?
Sounds like this is going to be a fairly detailed build, nice work so far.

I'm way out of my comfort zone Joe. haven't done this kind of stuff for years. My eyes are my worst enemy. That and my danged camera. It doesn't miss a flaw. I want to paint the truck a simple bright red. That's why I'm not sure about the cherry red being OK with it. We'll see.

Thanks for the comments guys. Not much progress to speak of. I'm doing things I haven't done in ages so it's slow going. Maybe more pics later in the week. Enjoy the game today !

Not a lot accomplished here but a whole bunch of frustration. I have a whole lot of admiration for those of you that go the super detail(engine wiring, brake lines etc) route. I gave up on the distributor on the Hemi. It's beyond my ken,my toolbox ,my eyeballs and my skill set, title=. Hence,I'm cobbling up a magneto of sorts. I know the wire's a touch large but if you look at them thru vasoline smeared glasses, sort of like I do,They'll do. Still have a lot of clean-up to do on it but by golly it's going to have wires. While I'm here; The engine red is the color I plan to use on the truck body. Does the contrast between the frame and engine look OK to y'all or not?I'm iffy on it. More later.
