Got the chrome stripped. The skull looks cool, but bone heads gotta go! Going to try to carve a grill out of it. . Looks like working from front to back on this one. Got the body soaking in lacquer thinner right now. Tim

I don't think lacquer thinner is going to hurt that paint. Acetone will, given enough time, though Aircraft stripper or a wire brush will work better.

Lacquer thinner bath did the job. Took bout two hours, paint practically fell off. Used on old tooth brush to get in the crevices. Thanx for the info TR, I've heard the Aircraft stuff works well also.

My eyes, Naked HW's! I don't think i've ever stripped a matt finish car. Good to know that the lacquer thinner worked for you. I'm looking forward to more.

Got a little bit done. Shaved the skull off. Decided to saw the hood. Grinded a little...cursed a bit! Knocked the burr off under the window with a little file and Dremel. She's starting to sit lower.

I like it more already! Cutting the hood and skull off has made a big difference.

Thanx guys. The skull and hood had to go. Gives it sort of a rake. The natural metal and rust is what I was thinking also. Got a few ideas bout the wheels and engine bay. Gotta figure out the front end, grill, pulleys, and engine. I cut a few panels for the top and rear. Need to clean them up and fit. Want to leave the tank exposed. It's a tiny build! I'm not sure with the pipes, was thinking of running them together out the side, bending them up, or leaving them be. They look pretty cool as is, may just drill out, clean, and leave them. Tim
