For the next few months, I decided to launch another 7-kit project devoted to Dragsters and Pro Street Monsters. The seventh is a 1987-ish Pontiac Firebird Pro Street Modified Dragster. There is no history behind this car. It came as part of the trio of Monster Machines and I have never built this kit in my life. To be honest, I was a little upset that this kit lacks a lot of the "pro street" features. Minus the engine coming out above the hood, everything else makes this car a standard street car including the tires, body style, and suspension. Quite disappointing!

So do I want to do with this beast. Well first, I noticed that the frame is severely warped and so is the body! Love the T-tops, but it is honestly so bent that they barely look like "T's" at all. The interior is actually a standard stock car interior. Everything is molded in black...I love that! (being sarcastic). Usually when I feel this way about a kit right out of the box, it turns out to be my best work! On a good note, the windows have a slight smoke tint to them already.

This kit will be an adventure....for sure. I am painting this car a metallic pink that my wife so graciously picked out. (For those of you who may not remember, she also picked out the Kurtis Kraft Racer so I am pretty sure she hates me these days!)

Unlike the most recent Indy project, I have all the time in the world to focus on these next 7. Haven't had enough time to really take a look at what i want to do with this one, so I am open to any ideas...

Thanks for looking!

Thanks

Chuck, love the ambition to take on so many projects. You might think of using the Firebird for the Jurassic Park Project starting in a few weeks.

I remember those.... under the body of the Beretta is the chassis, engine, interior, etc. from Rick Doberton's Pontiac J2000.

Very frustrated with this chassis... Trying to heat it up and bend it last night... almost snapped the thing in half... Maybe a little better but still have some work to do!

Thanks

Have I mentioned how much I hate this particular kit??? title=

No, it is not the reason that I have gone 5 months without updates, but I still hate the kit... One word: TWISTED!!!

Everything is twisted and poorly molded...and...well....now it is pink!!!

P.S. The chip found in photo #3 has since been repaired... Dang it Hood!!! title=

Thanks

Yikes! That is one warped chassis! Did you know it was twisted that bad when you started?

yes....the first pictures posted shows how twisted it was to start with....so we are at least improving... The worst part is that twisting it anymore may crack it... Last time I attempted a twist, I started to hear snapping and stopped... title=

Sorry, Missed those first pictures. Maybe you can get things aligned a bit better then you get the body attached.
