Marvellous work Ed. Amazing, all those details... What material did you use to hold the padding in place? It looks like tiny metal straps or something. They look really life-like.

Thanks guys, I used 32 gauge beading wire from Hobby Lobby. Just wrapped it around the padding and twisted it tight, cut off the twist as close as I could and bent them back.

That roll cage looks amazing, I can only imagine how tedious it must have been. How did you scratch build those valves?

Thanks Bud! For the valves, I used .080" hex rod for the body and .020"x.060" strip for the handle. Just cut to length drilled hole in each end for the wires.

I finally got this one finished. If you notice some of the sponsor decals are changed from the earlier photos. I made startling surprise when I unmasked where I painted the silver bumpers, I shot a couple coats of clear on the body a few days earlier, when I pulled off the tape, only a few minutes after shooting the silver some of the sponsor decals came off with the tape. So after some major blessings, I scrambled up some replacements and put them on and shot some more clear to blend it all out. Lesson learned, do all painting before applying decals. I’m going to the Lone Oak model show this weekend and see how it does, never been to this one before. http://www.briansmodelcars.com/forums/thread/599948/page/1 Thanks for looking and following along, even though I took a really long time to finish it.

Simply beautiful body work Ed! Nice job! Sorry to hear about those sponsor decals but what a great recovery!
Thanks

Incredible and inspiring. Thank you for the tips. If the Lone Oak model show is not listed on our Shows and Contest forum, could you please list it, so that our members know when and where it is? Thanks. Don
