This is a coulda, woulda, shoulda build. Modern Plymouth never made a pickup truck. This may have been risky in 1970, but by the '90s even Cadillac had one. What if Plymouth had built a pickup for the '70 model year?

I actually picture Plymouth building three models of the same basic vehicle.

The first model is the base Load Runner. This is everything from your basic stripped shop runner to a storming drag racer. It's standard engine is a 318 V8 with a 225 six cylinder and 383 or 440 V8s as options.

The second model is the Surf'n Bird. It can be had with a removable hardtop. It's standard engine is the 383 V8 with the 440 optional. It has an upgraded interior. The rear wing has built in racks to hold surfboards or ladders.

The third model and top of the line is the Haul'n Bird. The interior can be quite opulent, yet have full Superbird performance. The standard engine is the 440 V8 with a 426 Hemi optional.

Now all I have to do is build it. title=

A very cool idea.. title= Another version would be to cut off the rear from the back of the cab back and use a newer dodge pick up truck bed... title=

Interesting approach, Don. Looks like you got your work cut out for you. Good luck from here on in.

Have you forgotten the 1983 Plymouth Scamp pickup?

Heres a pic of the 1983 Plymouth Scamp and also the 1979-1982 Plymouth Arrow.

Yes. title= I had forgotten about that one and for some reason I thought there was no Plymouth version of the Rampage.

A Plymoutrh GTX based pickup is still a very cool idea though. You could even take it farther and make a 2 door Plymouth GTX wagon.

With just a month to build, I'll be lucky to finish one. I haven't decided on the Surf'n Bird or the Haul'n Bird yet. title=
