Well here it goes. I got this kit as a Christmas gift and have been working on the chassis and engine. Being that I am in Illinois and winter's grip is here I will not be able to do hardly any body painting since it is too cold outside to spray paint. My plan however is to do a two tone paint job, I'm leaning towards black on top w/ maroon on the bottom. I used to own a maroon '92 RS w/ T-tops so that color will be my homage to that car.

Kinda undecided what black to use: flat, gloss, semi gloss? That will take some experimenting. The chrome pieces have been stripped clean and will be blacked out as well. Sorry no pics of those, I overlooked them while photographing and figuring out the upload program. They are just plain white pieces for now. But here are some shots of my progress so far. Hope they comply with the photos regulations...I think I did it right.

Enjoy! Cheers!!

They will do it automatically after a certain time. Nice start by the way. As far as the color. I have seen a Flat black Camaro running around locally. It looks sick. He has drag slicks and Cragars on it. He also has them white lettered. Its tough to get a model to look like that though. The flat colors look very grainy and rough alot of the time on a scaled down car. On a real car you obviously dont notice because a model is so small and the surface are is tiny. If you did go with a flat I would try to use Tamiya's colors. They seem to go on very fine and smooth. It also retains the flat look well.

Hey, what are all the left over pieces for?

Great work so far shanesaw... Yeah, that flat black look is pretty cool...a satin black looks pretty mean as well. Keep the updates coming (as much as you can). title=

Thanks

Continuing on. Did the interior, flocked for the first time. Had issues getting the front seats glued down which resulted in having to scrape some flocking from the surface. On future flocking I will outline where the seat goes and avoid glue there. The dashboard served as a reminder why I don't enjoy painting/assembling the interior. This is my first serious build in well over a decade so I'm remembering mistakes and trying to step around those errors. It will only get better the farther I go. Right?

Thanks for looking if you took the time. Shane.

Just wanted to touch basis on the WIP. I bought my wife a new camera w/ our tax return, a Nikon Coolpix. Can't remember if it's the L110 or L120 but my next photo update on this and all future builds will be w/ a much better camera.

I have a Nikon Coolpix L16. Great camera for the money!Mine would do even better if I knew more about how to use.
