The new parts eliminate the old metal axles and allow the builder a easy way to do wheel swaps. Plus these parts make the model set real low. Nice set of custom wheels.
Exhaust still molded to chassis and will need to be removed. All the classic parts are gone. You can only build it as a Boyd rod and I am not a big fan of his work. Instructions are very poor.
Great kit and the only way you can get amts 55 nomad. The new parts are great and have simplified alot of the issues that this kit has had in regards to wheel swaps. I wish that they would have included the orignal parts.
It's a model with much possibility for the modification. The fact that the hood and the trunk open is a beautiful attention. The suspension is well too.
What I do not like on this model is that there is much part which does not have # of identification.
In short, it's a model which has much potential in the hands which likes to modify. There are passably detail above, but no parts of surplus. Too bad. The silencer is not modifiable easily, as it's cast A even the frame.
-Nice body-Decent suspension front and rear-Nice big inch rims/tires-Very very little flash on my kit-Interior isnt too bad-Rear tailgate and window open
-Interior is a tub-Exhaust is molded to frame-Not many options at all-Rear suspension is all plated-The little flash that was on mine was in bad hard to trim areas
All in all this is a nice kit. I made a custom speaker LCD screen setup in the rear of mine for display when the rear is opened. This kit has some great potential when the builder has some time and I built mine with very little fit problems (rear tailgate). I recommend this kit to anyone liking this type of kit.
I found this kit to be an excellent kit for a rookie to modify. There are many different variations that you can incorporate.
The many cons of this kit are as follows. 1) The exaust is molded to the chasis.2) The Instrutions are incomplete with no number references.3) The tie rod for the front steering is almost impossible to connect.4) The body is very difficult to line up with the chasis.5) The chrome bumpers also do not line up with the body. And finally the engine is very difficult to get past the fire wall during final assembly.
This would be an excelleny kit for an experienced modeller but for my self with limited skill I found it difficul and frustrating. I did manage to learn how to do minor alterations on this build which was a plus.
