Pros

-Sweet decals and good variety
-Lots of options
-Good detail

Cons

-Useless engine
-No hood clips
-Doors fit improperly

Comments

This thing is my most detailed and longest project to date. It took me two months to finish it with lots of striping and painting involved. I think the best thing about it is how versatile this van is. Its got a tv, a fridge, a bed, and a cb radio. The decals are awesome!

Pros

1. The subject! very cool!
2. Amount of detail.
3. Freedom to do whatever you like!

Cons

1. Poor molds
2. Terrible tires (split down the center)
3. Wheel halves do not fit the tires.

Comments

The model is dated 1976 and the molds show their age, especially the chrome plated sprue. The two halves are misalligned which affects every plated part but most noticeable on the exhaust pieces. The decals are great! Overall fit is ok with a bit of flash cleanup involved. The main body has some ugly seams that need sanding. End result is an excellent van with a great stance and beautiful interior detail.

Pros

Excellent decal sheet with lots of colorful graphics that can be used on future projects as well as this one.
New to me, but a model I wanted from childhood when these vans were all the rage.

Cons

The two-piece tires
Almost invisible engine when completed
Chrome pieces a bit heavy
Minimal dashboard detail

Comments

It was fun to build but its age brought a few flaws to the table. Ideally as a custom van it could have had a few more building options, for example a choice of wheels, the roof ladder and spare tire cover for the back doors, roof spoiler, bumpers, rear view mirrors etc (but I suppose you can always add your own from a spares box).
