Pros

Excellent detail, and really cool custom parts. No flash on my kit whatsoever. Separate suspension and exhaust. Interior is not a tub. Good detail, nice looking chrome bumper! Has a mean low stance... I love this kit.

Cons

The chrome rubbed off pretty easily on the rims...my finger tips were chromed after putting the rims into the tires! Exhaust tips suck...I would definitly add a few aftermarket parts to really fire this kit up! Not a lot of decals...just side stripes and licence plates.

Comments

If I could find another kit like this I would definnitly build another with a different color. I would want a fleet of these!

Pros

Well detailed kit
Interesting subject
Modern kit from AMT

Cons

Some issues with the paint job owing to the fact it was molded with the vinyl top in place
Decals in my kit (an early one that was street only) limited to license plates

Comments

Kit went together smoothly without much hassle. The decals were somewhat disappointing in that they comprised of three optional license plates only. It'd be nice to see some US-built kits with instrument panel decals (I only seem to see them on European and Japanese kits). I added hood stripes from the 1970 Chevelle SS454 to enhance the looks of the truck.

Pros

This kit has excellent detail on the front and rear suspension and goes together very well. The bed is 5 separate pieces that fit together so well you would think it was molded as one part. The 396 engine builds up nicely and the under hood detail looks good. The interior looks ok, just kind of average in that department.

Cons

The kit only comes with an automatic transmission, would have been nice to included a manual option. It only comes with the stock rally wheel, some mag wheels would have been a nice option. The custom air cleaner seem a bit large so I used another from my parts box. The biggest problem I had was with the fit of the hood. It would not lay flat in the front so I had to heat it and bend it to match the curve of the body.

Comments

I like this kit quite a bit, it builds up nicely with no major fit issues and has the classic El Camino feel. Quite a bit of good detail in the chassis and under the hood.
