Pros

I'm looking for something positive to say here. I suppose the fact it had posable front wheels and optional parts for having the headlights up were pluses.

Does have opening engine cover.

Body proportions appear to be correct.

I suspect this would be a good slot car body.

Cons

- Extremely low detail. Engine bottom is one piece that glues to chassis. Engine top is 8 pieces, all low detail. Interior detail is also low.

- The kit comes with door panels, but the instructions do not call for them and they don't fit if you try to use them.

- Parts fit was awful. Nearly every piece had to be sanded to get it to fit properly. I had to use a dremel on some parts to get them to fit and actually had to whittle the turn light covers down to size (almost 1/8" too large and the wrong shape). Parts were also very heavy.

- No chrome parts.

- Rear axle is plastic, too short, and very brittle. I had to replace it with a metal one from my parts box.

-Rear spoiler was too wide and didn't look right if trimmed down. Had to scratch build one that fit.

- The hood hinge is in the wrong spot. It catches on the engine. You basically have to decide if you want the hood up or down when you build the car.

- Decals are very basic

Comments

The low parts count and lack of detail would make this kit suitable only for beginners; however, due to the amount of work required to get the parts to fit I can't recommend this kit for a beginner.

I found this kit for 2.99 at Big Lots about 10-15 years ago and finally got around to building it. I think I overpaid. This is one of the worst, if not the worst, kits I have ever built. There are much better 512BB kits available. Get one of them instead of this one and you'll be much happier with your purchase.
