Good overall kit, colorful details, and good street suspension parts.

Cons

Side pipes are difficult to attach to headers, some poor fitting parts.

Comments

engine detailing and bare metal foil can enhance this model's appearence in a big way.

Pros

Nicely detailed kit. Went together very well. Comes with a 427 engine that looks great. Great directions and easy to assemble.

Cons

Dont really have any bad things to say about the kit. But if I had to pick something it would have to be the front axle assembly. The hole thing engine, Radiator, and axle assembly mounts to the firewall which then mounts to the body of the car. I was extremely lucky that my kit went together well otherwise that axle assembly could have posed some real problems. But that is about it.

Comments

I really enjoyed building this kit and I would do another in a heartbeat if I had one. The interior comes in the form of a tub with the seats and dash being seperate. I am sure that a skilled modeler could do some wild things to this kit. The kit just screams to be tubbed and raced down the 1/4 mile track.

Pros

-most parts fit well
-clean lines
-nice chrome

Cons

-odd engine bay/front suspension.
-front tires don't sit in the middle of fender opening.

Comments

I built this straight from the box, with no surprises, until I got to the interior. very little detail. I ditched the bench seat (front and rear), added a race seat, nos tank, battery and fabbed up a roll cage. Now, besides the front suspension being too far back, this is a nice build. Just a little out of scale.

Pros

Nice representation of the high preformance '66 Malibu SS. Good looking 427 big block V-8. The kit parts seemed relativey free of mold lines and sink marks. Excellent chrome. Parts fit was great making this kit relatively easy to prepare and build. Nice looking flame decals; however, I chose not to use them.

Cons

Only a couple of things to complain about. First, the kit is molded in black plastic making painting somewhat difficult. Secondly, the interior tub could have better detail, but looks pretty good assembled. Curiously, the side pipes are not on the chrome tree.

Comments

I had a little trouble with assembled engine, engine mounts, radiator and front suspension as this mounts to the firewall and not to the chassis. A little patience and careful assembly here provided good results. The trick here is to make sure the exhaust headers are lined up properly. Otherwise, I really enjoyed building this kit. I really like the overall stance of the completed car.

Pros

This kit comes with a flip nose, and a gasser style front axle, which make it a unique model.

Cons

The flip nose may be a little difficult for an inexperienced builder. Proper hood alignment may be a problem.

Comments

The model looks pretty good when finished, and adds a old school look to your collection. One tip I have for anyone building this kit, Is to build the flip nose assembly first, and allow to completly dry. Then glue the engine/ front subframe to the firewall. Before the glue completly dries, install the hood, and line it up. That way when everything dries, the hood is lined up and looks good.

Pros

Nicely detailed kit with pretty clean molding that comes in black, the chrome plating parts is in good shape. The kit comes with a big block 427 engine that looks massive under the hood. Instructions pretty easy to follow.

Cons

Attaching the front end is a bit difficult, takes a few tries to get the alignment right. Has a small engine bay so attaching the headers and lining them up with the side pipes can be difficult. Interior is poorly detailed. The flip end should have a stopper of some type to prevent the hood from touching the ground when open. The front sub frame is pretty weak.

Comments

The finish result is a great finish. Big engine and a great look with the side pipes. This kit comes with flames that I did not use. Assembling the front end takes some time and patience, fit a couple of times before final assembly.
