Pros

Definitly a classic to model! Great car to model if your into mustangs! Body hardly needed some touch ups due to the factory, which was a nice surprise. The stance of the car looked awesome! All around good looking car without the decals, thats where the complements stop...

Cons

The decals pretty much ruined the car for me. This model comes with gold decals to go over a black paint job. You could probably leave the decals off or paint it white but then you would loose the whole Hertz image. The trouble is that after everything was done and the last thing to do was to put the decals on, when they went on (after a big fight with air bubbles) they turned virtually clear with maybe a light shade of gold you could only see with a magnifying glass!! The decals suck. They end up looking like raised edges all over a nice paint job, which had to be stripped off and repainted. You end up with a 1966 Mustang GT 350, with nothing to show Hertz had anything to do with it. title=

Just buy a 1966 Mustang...trust me thats all your gonna end up with if you buy this!

Pros

This is a very special car for mustang and muscle car lover's
Although it is a simple kit to build it build's into an accurate representation of the real car
The stance is just like on the box,and the interior although it is a tub style is very accurate and detailed,It comes with seperate arm rests and the gauge cluster features good engraved detail for the gauges. When it is properly paint detailed the shifter is beautiful.

Cons

The only thing about this kit that I did not like was the decal's,not because the gave me any trouble going on but they were totally the wrong color.
EDIT title=ne more thing that I was not crazy about, since I built my last one as a race car,Is the fact that the upper part of the rear differential is molded open. But that does not hurt the kit enough to take points away.

Comments

If you want to build this kit as it should look I must say buy it,just paint the stripes on in the correct shade of gold,I Highly Recommend This kit.I will definetly buy more.

Pros

-Very well detailed car.
-Very well done 289.
-a full set of under hood decals and all that good stuff
-Chassis was molded very well with lots of detail
-wasnt any chinsy parts in this car

Cons

-As with the rest of them the gold decals were trans parent.
-The only other problem with this kit was the fact the drive shaft was molded to the rear axle

Comments

All in all i loved building this kit. It was one of my first, and im sure it would be great for a beginners project. I enjoyed it and im thinking of getting another to really detail.

Pros

- Simple to put together
- Decals were easy to put on
- Very little Flash and/or mold lines
- Decent amount of detail on engine
- Interior detail
-Chrome bumpers/grill/ accents/etc.

Cons

- Side windows were a little difficult to get in place
- Body/ Chassis Fit was a little off
- Rims are very basic and take away from car (IMO)
- Grill fit was slightly off

Comments

I have had very little experience with kits and how quality they are. But for the first model I've ever built I would say this one was quality. The instructions are easy to follow, the parts (for the most part) fit very well, and looks very nice built box stock.

I would recommend this kit to beginners as well as anyone who has a love for mustangs.

Pros

- Great proportions
- Very detailed chassis, engine, and interior
- Very little flash, they've improved this kit from before.
- Easily customizable
- Decals are now gold, like they should be. Before they were transparent but the company seems to have fixed this.
- Rims are the authentic Rally wheels.

Cons

- Side vents are difficult to get in place.
- Tires are the usual nasty vinyl from Revell. They look too fake and they're too hard.
- Tub interior. Makes some of the detailed painting difficult.
- Also, interior door panels were poorly molded. Very little definition to the panels.
- Rear valance can be difficult to get in place properly.
- Headlights are difficult to keep glue from fogging them up.

Comments

This is the 4th or 5th time I've built this model. I keep buying it because I love mustangs and its actually a pretty good model. This can be built by semi-beginners without any problems and it helps that it has a low parts number. It can also be used by experienced builders to make some cool custom cars. No doubt I'll buy this model again.
