Pros

Very accurate details, Engine and enterior are very well detailed. I had no fit problems at all. Body shape is also very accurate. Parts were very clean with no flash to speak of. Parts seperated from the trees with very little effort and minimal sprue marks.

Cons

The only complaints I had was the decals where pretty much trash and yellowed and could not be used and there was very miner sink holes on the top of each front fender which where easily filled

Comments

I would recomend this kit to any one, It was a joy to build. The only reason I gave the decals a poor rating was not because of the content but they where yellowed.

Pros

- Engine detail is good

- Separate chrome door handles and side trim pieces are a nice touch.

- The pace car decals were also nice.

- Flash is minimal. Parts fit is good.

Cons

- The wheels on my model wouldn't stay on the car if assembled according to the directions. The snap on wheel arrangement was simply not tight enough to hold the wheels on. I pulled the inner wheels back out of the tires, put them on the attachment points, then slightly melted the attachment points using a hot knife and reassembled the wheels. This kept the wheels on much better while still allowing them to turn freely.

- The rear pan had to be trimmed slightly to get a proper fit.

- Painting detail in the instructions could have been better. I had to locate reference pictures on the internet to determine the proper color for the seats, door panels, and arm rests.

- I had problems with the assembly of the two piece side mirror as well. I ended up making a little stand out of Popsicle sticks so I could stand the assembly up in such a way that the mirror face would stay at the correct angle until the glue dried

Comments

- All in all a good kit from Monogram. As far as I know this is the only 1:24 or 1:25 kit of the first year of the Mustang which makes it essential to any Mustang fan.

- This kit is easy enough for the beginner, but detailed enough that an experienced builder will be satisfied with the results, although reference pictures are essential for the interior.
