Step #1: Using a Dremel with a sanding bit the same circumference as the inner kit tire, I inset the tire and turn the Dremel on high speed and run it over a sheet of 320 Grit sandpaper until the seam and " tree bunion" is gone. Please remember to wear protective eye-wear and take all appropriate precautions.Step #2: Take a clean rag, dip it in lacquer thinner and clean the tires front side of the sidewall where you are going to place your decals.Step #3: Using Testors Gloss or Semi Gloss lacquer Spray the sidewall with a coat of this on all 4 tires. This will help the decals you will be using to adhere to the sidewall. Let dry to the touch.Step #4: Decal the sidewall using either Slixx or equivalent. I do not recommend kit decals. They silver and do not stick well, and are not affected by decal solvents. Speaking of decal solvents, brush a coat of it on the tire decals to get them to "melt" on the tires. Set the tires aside for an hour or two.Step #5: I usually take a flat soft brush and I brush on Testors Dull coat. You can spray it on or airbrush it on. Make sure it is lacquer. Let it dry. and you have really realistic finished tires.Step #6: Once you have the wheels mounted, detail the tires, add wheel weights indicators, "RF,LF etc... Lug nut stripes, using Yellow, or white lacquer paint like Floquil or equivalent. Testors will never dry, and remain sticky. Use good reference pictures to depict the tires you want on a certain car, this is all I do.Related Tutorial: Detailing Tires: Easy Way To Make Realistic Tires
