Your online privacy and safety are serious matters to BMC. We take extraordinary measures to ensure the privacy and security of your personal information. The details are described below but here's our simple privacy statement: A court order shall be required before your personal information will ever be disclosed to a third party. It's really that simple. The DetailsThe personal information that you enter on BMC is stored on our servers in a password-protected database. For maximum security and privacy database backups are stored on a server that is not connected to the Internet. The database itself is located behind a secure computer firewall, a barrier that prevents outsiders from accessing it. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's storage device; typically your hard drive. Web sites often place cookies on your browser to identify return users. This allows for enhanced personalization. For example, we utilize cookies to keep you logged-in, as well as to store personalized information such as list preferences, search preferences, and other things. As stated above cookies are used to store your Screen Name and Password to keep you logged into BMC. These cookies are strongly encrypted so that nobody who uses your computer, including yourself, can see the login information in clear text. We do not encrypt cookies used to store preferences and other information. BMC does not accept advertising. Therefore we do not use cookies to determine advertising selections or to deliver information that you have not specifically requested from us. We never use cookies to cross-reference identifying data and we never provide a third party access to BMC cookie information. Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. If you would like to disable this function you must do so by changing the cookie settings in your web browser. Your password ensures that your account will remain secure and private. To protect your security choose a password that will be difficult for others to guess but not so difficult that you need to write it down. If you forget your password BMC can automatically issue you a new one. We cannot retrieve your existing password. That's because all passwords in our database are highly encrypted and nobody is able to see your password in clear text. If you want to receive e-mail from other members BMC provides a service called SiteMail. This lets other members send you e-mail without your e-mail address being published anywhere on BMC and thus exposing it to e-mail harvesters who would love to send you spam. To protect yourself from spammers you should never post your e-mail address in public on any website. We take steps to try and prevent e-mail harvesters from accessing BMC but we cannot guarantee they won't be successful. No website can make such a claim. If you have questions or concerns please use the Contacts link at the top and bottom of every page. Thank you. Brian Tompkins & Gary Keith BMC v2008.1 Beta © 1998-2008 BlazerTech Corporation |
